holiday cheer

A present from my ever-industrious brother and sister-in-law; homemade jams and preserves, and homemade peppermint bark. We decided to make all our presents this year. It's been a very busy couple of weeks and now I have just one week left to devote to schoolwork. But first! New Year's Eve! In Mt. Shasta! Yay!!

I've been busy making holiday presents for my family: pajama pants and clutch bags. I get dizzy when I'm looking for fabric at Stonemountain & Daughter. the colors! the possibilities!
My weekend was divided though, as every time I walked into the house I would find something to the effect of:

This is a gate on display at the Art Institute in Chicago. I didn't notice what year this was made but doesn't the pattern look so 50's?
